When you bite into a traditional Hutsul dish, you’ll find yourself transported back in time.
Classic Carpathian foods are prepared in large pots over an open flame or baked in the oven. The most popular ingredients include cornmeal, beans, potatoes and brynza, sheep or cow cheese. You’ll often find fresh mushrooms and salo, pork lard, incorporated into hot dishes. Shashlyk, grilled fish and vegetables, are also popular. As for desserts, Ukrainian Carpathians are justly famous for honey and unique local jams of bilberry, blackberry, and lingonberry as well as the treats made with them.

While the town boasts international options such as pizza and sushi, Yaremche is the perfect place to enjoy classic Hutsul cuisine.
